Dear Supporters, Thank you for signing the petition!
We now urgently need your help to oppose this major overdevelopment proposal in Narrabeen and tell the State Government this is not OK in our community or yours!
We’re fighting hard to save our community, but we need your help right now.
The proposed development is for 149 apartments exceeds planning controls by over 70% in bulk and height. It has been submitted without proper community consultation, relying on state-level process to bypass local council scrutiny.
This is not just about one site. It’s about protecting our community,
our environment, and our right to be heard.
We are talking with the press, and local council, Ministers, and Community Representatives to raise awareness and demand accountability. Signing the petition is a fantastic start, but to truly make a difference, we need every possible person to lodge a formal submission before 4 November. This is the most powerful way to pressure the NSW Department of Planning to review the height and scale of this audacious development.
Please tell everyone you know - neighbours, friends, family – and encourage them to submit too.
The more voices we raise, the harder it becomes for the state government to ignore us. Individual and distinct responses are critical, they count separately and carry more weight than form letters or petitions.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Write a short, personal objection -even a few paragraphs is enough.

2. Focus on your concerns: Do not copy and paste as every submission has to be unique.
🚫 Why We Oppose
Overdevelopment – excessive bulk and scale
149-apartment complex is out of scale with Narrabeen’s low-rise coastal character.
Tree Removal
All mature pine and gum trees along Lagoon Street will be removed, destroying habitat and visual screening.
Environmental Impact
Loss of bird habitat (sea eagles, tawny frogmouths, kookaburras, cockatoos) and disruption of the sandy peninsula’s fragile soil and water table.
Visual Intrusion
The development will block long-standing ocean views from homes across the peninsula and escarpment.
No Setbacks observed
Building right to the on Lagoon, Loftus and Octavia Street boundaries.
Aboriginal Heritage Risk
The site is near where Narrabeen Man was discovered here. Excavation risks disturbing unrecorded Aboriginal remains.
Traffic and Safety Hazards
300 vehicles exiting onto Lagoon Street will worsen congestion and only providing for 7 visitors.
Exclusionary Design
Four blocks built around a private courtyard offer no public space or community benefit creating a segregated enclav.
Misleading Consultation
Sessions focused on sales (e.g. oven preferences), not community concerns. Residents were told the project would bypass council and we have 14 days to object.
No Local Benefit
This is a private retirement living project, not affordable housing, yet it's being fast-tracked as a State Significant Development and only for developers benefit. No community infrastructure improvements are being proposed.
3. Submit your response via the official planning portal
