For years, the neighborhood of Sanger Circle, the residents on Lois Rd E as well as Marion Rd and beyond have thrived as a peaceful, safe area where families could put down roots and enjoy their lives away from the hustle and bustle of industrial activity that has always been reserved for the west side of the railroad along i35. It is a place filled with natural beauty, where children play freely, and neighbors gather to celebrate togetherness. Children walk home from school, ride their bikes and there is a unique mix of agriculture and residential that has coexisted fondly. This sense of community and harmony is now being threatened by the proposed rezoning of 202 acres on Lois Rd E (legal description A0029A R. BEEBE, TR 107, 202.69 ACRES, OLD DCAD SHT 3, TR 10) from its current designation to light industrial use.

The shift from a residential to an industrial environment will drastically change the character and livability of our area. It is a move that will not only bring noise, pollution, and increased traffic but also negatively affect property values and the quality of life of all residents. Statistics from similar rezoning cases show a significant increase in air pollution and noise levels, which can lead to health issues, particularly for children and the elderly, not to mention the environmental impact on the local livestock and wildlife.

Additionally, light industrial zoning can introduce risks, such as the likelihood of hazardous materials being stored or processed nearby, posing a threat to our health and wellbeing. Furthermore, the wear and tear on the infrastructure with the increase in heavy-duty truck traffic could potentially lead to safety hazards and increased public service costs.
