The issue

Fluffy, AKA Norbit the Emu, has been peacefully living in a Sunshine Coast Conservation Park for many years.
Infact, he has become quite famous with the Nambour  Park Runners - people all over Australia have heard about how much Fluffy loves to run with them; so much so that other Park Run enthusiasts have travelled from as far away as Perth to run with Fluffy.

But our beautiful big boy has an opponent; a woman by the name of  Ms Tania Stickler. Ms Stickler is a horse rider who has made repeated claims that Fluffy is dangerous and should be removed from the Conservation Park.
Ms Stickler has a petition calling, yet again, for Fluffy’s removal.

Ms Stickler has done this on more than one occasion, demanding that this ‘dangerous’ ‘six foot bird’ be removed.

Qld Parks & Wildlife have placed notices at the entrance to the park letting the public know that emu are present.
To date, Qld Parks & Wildlife have not indicated that there is any reason to have Fluffy removed.

This petition calls for three things:

  1. That the media stops giving this woman a platform to voice her opinions.
  2. That this woman is banned from riding her horse in Parklands on the grounds that she is deliberately creating a situation specifically to antagonise and have Fluffy removed.
  3. That Fluffy is declared publicly by QPWS as The Parkland’s Conservation Park Ambassador for wildlife and will never be removed from his home.

Fluffy is a gentle giant and brings enormous pleasure to everyone who encounters him. We are so lucky to have this beautiful bird in one of our conservation parks. After all, he’s native, he’s a protected species and quite frankly has more right to be in the park than Ms Stickler!

Please sign this petition and call for an end to the vindictive campaigning by Ms Stickler and any of  her equally disgruntled associates.
