Our peaceful neighborhood in The Town of Saratoga, NY is under threat. This is where my children laugh and play, where my family enjoys the serenity and security of our tranquil surroundings. But all of this is on the brink of disappearing with the proposed development of a music venue at the edge of our property. 

This venue plans to include a 100-person car parking lot, housing for musicians, an outdoor amphitheater, and a music barn. The entrances will be on Burke Road and County Route 68. The noise will certainly spread to surrounding county routes and streets. The introduction of such a bustling establishment is alarming for those of us who have cherished the quiet and safety of our community. The potential noise, increased traffic, and influx of strangers will irreversibly alter the fabric of our lives. While we applaud the development of the arts, there is an appropriate setting for this commercial project, and it is not in a quiet country neighborhood. 

Imagine our serene roads where we walk with our dogs and children suddenly becoming crowded thoroughfares, filled with cars and unfamiliar faces. Our quiet roads, once safe for pedestrians and children riding bikes, will bear the brunt of heavy traffic. This is not just about us as individuals—this is about preserving the safety, peace, and character of our entire neighborhood.

According to data from neighborhood studies, increased traffic and noise levels have been shown to lower the quality of life and decrease property values. We cannot let this go unnoticed. We also can only guess at the environmental and wildlife impact.
