I just received another letter from the township regarding an application for a zoning bylaw amendment, for the Elora sands development to be changed from agricultural to residential zoning.
Still not in our Official Plan, still not approved by the OLT, but still submitting applications to pave over prime agricultural land and wellhead protection areas. Applications to create stormwater ponds that pollute our rivers and damage our tourism economy. Applicants submitting self-funded, biased studies with self-supporting summaries that benefit their own profit and exclude the greater community; with apathy for the interests of the township, the costs to current residents, infrastructure logistics, transportation concerns, environmental impacts, our rights to clean water and for Elora’s sustainable future.
Greed is relentless. I’ll be writing another letter of opposition. Won’t you join me?
