We, the residents of the Mohawk Valley—including Ilion, Herkimer, Mohawk, Frankfort, and surrounding communities—are deeply concerned about the proposed artificial intelligence data center at the former Remington Arms site.

While redevelopment is important, projects of this scale can have regional impacts, including:

Significant strain on local energy infrastructure
Increased water usage for cooling systems
Noise and environmental concerns
Limited long-term job creation compared to impact
Lack of transparency in planning and community input

We respectfully call on local and state officials to:

Pause approval of this project
Conduct a full, transparent environmental and infrastructure impact review
Actively include all surrounding communities in decision-making
