Peter K. Oberacker Jr. is a dedicated public servant and successful businessman currently serving as a New York State Senator for the 51st district. A member of the Republican Party, Oberacker was elected to the state senate in 2020, succeeding James Seward, and began his term in January 2021. The district he represents spans portions of Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster counties following the 2020 redistricting cycle. Before his tenure in the state senate, Oberacker held various local offices, including as a representative on the Otsego County Board. He also founded FormTech Solutions, where he served as CEO. His educational background includes a high school diploma from Schenevus High School and a bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Delhi. His professional experience extends to roles such as food scientist at Chemische Fabrik Budenheim and marketing manager at ConAgra.
