Dear neighbors,
We are happy to inform you, we received word from the City of Franklin, that the developer has pulled their request to change Envision Franklin Plan for the Brownland Property. Thank you all for signing and showing your support for the health, welfare and safety of our community. This is not yet over as the developer is to move forward with a new "rezoning" plan for this property. We must all continue to be part of the solutions to Keep Williamson County Livable.
On Tuesday, the City Aldermen will be voting on a resolution to allow the Planning Commission to create a new special area plan for the NW quadrant of the West Harpeth River. This new plan must include the Brownland Property as stated during City Meeting by Emily Hunter. We support this effort and are asking you to email these Aldermen by Noon on Tuesday, Sept 22 thanking them for their leadership and for listening to the community, that this endeavor is a start for a better Franklin. Please ask them to not permit any annexation or rezoning until this plan is completed. This is very critical for all future development in the area to be more rural by design.
Thank you all again,
Keep Williamson County Livable Team

Here is the email from the city with more information:
Hello,
You are receiving this email because you previously contacted City of Franklin staff regarding the Brownland Farm Envision Franklin Amendment.
Staff has received a formal request by the applicant to withdraw their application for an Envision Franklin amendment at the site in question. You will notice that the item is still on the agenda for the September 24th Planning Commission meeting, and the meeting is still an opportunity for public comment, however the applicant is no longer requesting that the Envision Franklin Design Concepts of the site be amended.
This month, for public comments, we will be accepting emails up until 5:00 pm on 9/23 (planningintake@franklintn.gov). The staff will compile these emails and upload them into Civic Clerk, the City’s agenda software, but we will not read them in their entirety out loud during the meeting. They will be included in the minutes of the meeting, in full. We will have the Zoom phone line available for call-ins and will unmute callers during the public comment periods. The meeting will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. The number is posted on the agenda. We will not be allowing in-person public comment at City Hall this month. To access the online agenda, staff reports, and item attachments, click here: https://franklintn.civicclerk.com/Web/Player.aspx?id=193&key=-1&mod=-1&mk=-1&nov=0
Additionally, the applicant has notified staff that they intend to submit a Development Plan and Rezoning request for the property to develop with the current Conservation Subdivision Envision Franklin Design Concept. These are separate public processes through the City’s Current Planning Division. A neighborhood meeting is required for these applications and will be held at a future date; information about neighborhood meetings can be found at the following City webpage: https://www.franklintn.gov/government/departments-k-z/planning-and-sustainability/find-out-more/neighborhood-meetings
Please contact City staff if you have any questions.
