Oppose Establishment of Food Truck Park with Liquor License on Residential Grounds

The Issue

Growing up in this neighborhood was a gift. Both sides of my family relished in its tranquility and security. We could play freely with friends around the whole block without worry. This peaceful atmosphere stands threatened today by a planned establishment of a food truck park with a liquor license and a concert stage just across the street from my elderly father's home. This neighborhood, which many families and elderly residents call home, was never meant to accommodate commercial businesses that could introduce noise, intoxication, and strangers into our midst.

Regrettably, the concerned citizens here were not informed or allowed to voice their concerns before this plan was put into place. The process of rezoning a residential area into a commercial one requires transparency and should involve the views of those whose lives will be directly affected. We believe there should have been a vote on these drastic changes.

Allowing this park to establish will not just disrupt the peace and safety of our neighborhood, but could also potentially endanger our elders and children, who make up a large portion of this community. I'm concerned for the safety of my grandchildren as they play outside and for my aunt who lives alone up the street, along with many other elderly people in the area. This proposed development stands against everything our neighborhood values and cherishes.

I urge you to take a stand with us, and for us. Sign this petition to ensure the city council and the city manager listen to our voices and reconsider their decision that stands against the communal harmony and safety of our neighborhood. Show them we matter by giving us the opportunity to be a part of decisions that affect us dramatically. Together, we can protect our community. Please sign our petition.
