In 2002, Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition made it legal for adult film stars to simulate minors in porngraphy. The court deemed that the CPPA (Child Pornography Prevention Act) prohibited free speech and “does not record a crime and does not create a victim by its production.” They also added that the harm done by this production was too indirect and indistinguishable. 

The United States produces 55% of child pornography globally, and this is a rising issue especially with the implementation of AI (Artificial Intelligence). 85% of child pornography possessors admit to having victims who are also children.
