Who is impacted?  Residents, School buses, Emergency vehicles, Water Department vehicles, Business travelers and anyone transiting through this intersection. 

What is at stake? This exchange is already congested on a two lane road with no turning lanes and has red lights in all four directions at the intersection. There is no road widening planned in the foreseeable next few years. (In the City traffic plan 2021, it is listed as a medium priority,at number 15 on their list) It is already backed up and the new high school on Mahlon Moore will add additional bus traffic.

Why now is the time to act? A development is currently before the city planning commision that will add 8 retail stores, 35 apartment units, and 128 parking spaces at the intersection. The current plan shows an entrance on Kedron, 1/2 block from the light, and one entrance on Mahlon Moore, 1/2 block from that light. It is estimated to add 1,000 entries per day at these lights. It would be insane for the commission to accept any traffic study that says this will make sense.
