We, the undersigned members of David Lloyd Northwood & Bushey, respectfully request the immediate reinstatement of Anika’s membership.

Anika has been unfairly targeted by a small group of individuals at Northwood, both online and within the club.

The truth is that Anika has devoted her time, resources, and energy to building a thriving Padel community. In just 8 weeks, what started as a group of 20 players grew into a welcoming community of 160. Thanks to her efforts, members of all levels—beginners, intermediate, and advanced—have been able to find partners, play regularly, and enjoy the sport in a friendly and supportive environment. The culture ensures transparency, fairness for all and inclusivity for all levels of play - suitable for match play. 

She has now handed over the reigns to devoted members of the community, and continuously receives positive feedback such as: 

‘There is such a variety of us who play on the courts (at all levels) …and always new people joining too’

‘I don’t think the club appreciate how much good this group has done for so many people (and how much of yourself you have given to built it)’

I appreciate everything you’ve done for our community. You’ve built something really special and created so many great connections between people, and that won’t be forgotten. I know this must be very hard time for you right now, but please remember the impact you’ve had — it’s truly amazing’

As a regular gym goer, there wasn’t a way to really find people to play with. I work on big projects and can rarely get the chance to play, but the community has made this possible! Thank you Anika. Thinking of you!

Despite her positive contributions, these individuals publicly named and shamed her in a WhatsApp group of over 120 members and escalated an unfounded complaint of bullying.

Anika’s leadership and generosity have helped countless members connect, play, and feel part of something special. The community she created continues to grow, and her absence has been deeply felt.

We strongly believe her nationwide ban is unfair and does not reflect the positive experiences the majority of members have had because of her work.

For her, the club has always been far more than just a place to exercise—it has been a community hub where she could share time with like-minded friends she has known for over 25 years, catch up with relatives, and feel part of a supportive environment. Losing access now means she cannot use the space that once kept her connected to her family, her community, and her wellbeing, leaving a profound gap in her social and personal life

Therefore, we respectfully ask David Lloyd Northwood to lift Anika’s Ban and welcome her back as a valued member of our club.
