According to the research bullying is gross misconduct and gives institutions the opportunity to suspend or ban you from a club.

Bullying involves a pattern of behaviour aimed at belittling, humiliating, or intimidating someone. The primary goal is to make the other person feel smaller, weaker, or powerless. This behaviour can manifest in various ways, such as:

  • A member who has constantly mocks your appearance or the way you communicate despite knowing it hurts you.
  • Members who exploit ‘banter’ in public which are actually ‘cruel jokes’ as a tool to undermine your confidence.
  • A member intentionally excluding/removing you from social events/groups and gatherings with the intention to upset; hurt or harm you.
  • Screenshotting private messages in public forums in attempt to humiliate and ruin somebodies reputation.
  • Members which spread false rumours about you with the intention to damage your reputation.
  • Group dynamics: Friends chatting more with some people than others is bullying when it is deliberate, targeted to one individual and ongoing.

The impact of bullying is profound, often eroding self-esteem, creating fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation.

What is NOT bullying:

Misunderstandings: Someone forgetting to reply, leaving you on “read,” or misinterpreting tone in a message.

Disagreement: Two people debating or even arguing a point without intent to humiliate or repeatedly target one another.

Boundary-setting: A person choosing to mute, block, or leave a group chat to protect their peace — that’s self-care, not bullying.

One-off incidents: An occasional harsh message, joke gone wrong, or unkind comment (though it can still hurt, bullying is repeated behavior).

I am launching a fundraiser to give up my time to raise awareness of Bullying and Cyberbullying.

Please support me on my mission! Raising awareness of Bullying and Cyberbullying in UK.
