I have spoken to those in a place to authorise the fly-in and discussed some of the key points.

Unfortunately the fly-in has been deemed not possible due to operational limitations that mean the airfield cannot accommodate the event in its current condition (Main reason it that it was removed from the AIP as of 23/7/23).

Although disappointing, the fly-in event will still take place at nearby airfield (to be determined) and its purpose will be to commemorate Colerne airfields history and highlight its potential as a base for light aviation. It will also raise money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

I would like to make it clear that this is not the end for the Colerne airfield campaign and we will continue to push for Colerne to be reopened to aviation.

I am currently attending talks with the APPG-Aviation parliamentary group who are working with Local MP's and the MOD to reestablish aviation at the site, recognising its strategic importance. I will let you know the outcome.

I will post another update once the new fly-in airfield has been determined.
