Roll back cancellations of elective surgeries for cancer patients in Ontario

The Issue

Why are cancer patients paying the price with their lives because of poor policies and planning that has led to this crisis in our health care system?

Why are cancer patients lives less important than those with Covid?

Poor planning is no excuse for prioritizing one group over another. Cancer surgeries are not elective ..They are life saving. We were told that elective surgeries would be cancelled not CANCER surgeries.

Reverse the decision of cancellation to important surgeries and life saving surgeries. Bring in more health care workers into work in ICU’s and DO NOT delay cancer patients for necessary life saving treatment!

It is hard  to sit and watch this.  It’s hard to know that without immediate treatment we can lose those we love. It’s hard to know that people who have already waited months for treatment are getting cancelled at the last moment. Imagine what it does to them physically and emotionally.  Also imagine if this was you, your spouse, kids, parents, or friend. We need to care even if it’s not happening to us directly.
The mental health impact of these delays adds another layer of stress for patients and families.

Together, let’s help make this IMPORTANT change.  Please sign and share for as many signatures we can get.  Action needs to be taken as soon as possible.

Cancer can’t wait.  Creating a new crisis to solve another.

Surgeries have been triaged against Covid.

Step - surgeries take equal priority.....let’s STEP in the right direction, let’s bring surgeries back to save lives.

STEP-Surgeries Take Equal Priorities

STEP up and do the right thing, bring surgeries back
STEP up and avert the coming crisis from the consequences of canceling surgeries for Covid
STEP up and STOP triaging Covid ahead of surgeries
STEP up as this will affect you directly or indirectly at some point in the future.
