Petition to Future Motion: Onewheel Right to Repair

Petition to Future Motion: Onewheel Right to Repair
The Issue
We, the Onewheel community, are reaching out to Future Motion with a request for improvements that will make Onewheel riding safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for everyone.
Background:
When the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) raised concerns about Onewheels, Future Motion asked the community to help keep Onewheels legal on American streets. Together, we managed to protect our ability to ride Onewheels.
What We’re Asking For:
Haptic Buzz: We ask Future Motion to work with the CPSC to offer a way for riders to further customize when Haptic Buzz occurs and reconsider the ability to toggle it off.
Clear Repair Guidelines: Sharing more detailed torque specifications and repair guides would help people properly use tools like the Onewheel Electric Screwdriver. While some information is available, it’s incomplete.
Digi Tilt: Allowing riders to adjust their boards such as using Digi Tilt for re-leveling and use third-party parts would make it easier for everyone to customize their rides.
Battery Health Info: Adding a way to monitor battery cell health through the app or other platforms would help riders know when they need to service their batteries.
Error 23: This error disrupts rides for many Onewheel users, and we ask that it be resolved for a smoother experience.
No More App Limits: Removing restrictions that prevent third-party apps from connecting to the board will let riders have freedom to use apps of their choice to access crucial Onewheel data. We also would appreciate stopping mandatory firmware updates in order to use the app.
Sincerely, The Onewheel Riders
