OneAgenda from IndianDiaspora for IndiaVote2024
The Issue
Summary:
The Indian Diaspora, numbering 18 million in 2020, is growing, and so are our evolving needs. We aim to expand the scope of this petition to include topics crucial to our community. In the upcoming months, discussions about "IndiaVotes2024" will naturally take place in our gatherings in various forms. However, these discussions will hold greater value if we unify our message to addressing the pressing concerns of the Indian Diaspora. Thus, the necessity now lies in delivering a unified agenda - "OneAgenda from IndianDiaspora for IndiaVote2024".
To begin, we have outlined three topics below out of the Top5Topics for 'OneAgenda from IndianDiaspora for IndiaVote2024'
Topic 1:Super Visas for Parents
Great news for the Indian diaspora! The Super Visa for parents arriving in Germany post-March 1, 2024, has been secured. However, we continue to gather signatures to extend this benefit to those arriving before this date.
Topic 2: Upholding Autonomy of Hindu Temples from State Government to support overseas temple and promote Culture:As the Indian diaspora grows, establishing temples abroad becomes vital for preserving our culture. We advocate for the autonomy of Hindu temples in India, similar to religious institutions of other faiths, to support overseas temple and promote Culture
Topic 3: Dual Citizenship:
We support dual citizenship for Indians abroad, allowing them to honor their roots while embracing their adopted homes. This acknowledges their contributions to both countries without forcing restrictive choices.
Call to Action:
This petition primarily serves as an advocacy platform to unite the perspectives of the Indian diaspora, offering invaluable insights and guidance for policymakers as we seek collaborative community changes.
For Instance, when PM Modi or other leaders/policymakers engage with the diaspora to discuss 'OneAgenda from Diaspora' for Viksit Bharat (Developed India), this petition will serve as a means to articulate our collective vision and requirements clearly. Please sign this petition, verify your email, and express your principal concerns in the comments section

Topic 1: Super Visas for Parents:
Status : Done for Indian Diaspora arriving after March 1, 2024, in Germany. (https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/aufenthg_2004/__36.html
Congratulations and Thank you to all of you for your support and engagement in this cause!
Particularly noteworthy are the developments following Prime Minister Shree Modi's visit to Munich, Germany,
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated individuals of Team India, led by Prime Minister Shree Modiji and Minister of External Affairs Shree Jaishankarji, as well as the esteemed members of Team Germany, including Chancellor Mr Olaf Scholz and Foreign Minister Mrs Annalena Baerbock, all members of the German parliament, coalition parties in parliament for their pivotal roles in advancing this topic.
Special thanks to Mr. Sagar Patil of the Berlin SPD Party, SPD AG Migration, and Diversity for his dedicated efforts in expediting the facilitation of Super visas for parents
We deeply appreciate every individual's invaluable contributions to this cause.
We also urge expedited facilitation of Super visas for parents, particularly for Indian diaspora members arriving before 1st March 2024
Topic 2: Upholding Autonomy of Hindu Temples from State Government to support overseas temple and promote Culture:As we settle outside India, establishing temples abroad becomes crucial for preserving and transmitting Indian traditions and culture to future generations.Donations received by temples in India should be directed towards propagating Sanatana Dharma and supporting community welfare initiatives, including the construction of temples overseas.
Just as churches in Germany enjoy autonomy, Hindu temples should operate independently in India, playing a pivotal role in preserving and unifying the global Hindu community and providing support funds for the construction of temples overseas.
To our Muslim/Christian/other religious brothers and sisters in the Indian Diaspora, we humbly request your support on this matter as well. You understand best the void felt when these energy centers are absent abroad.
We earnestly call upon the Team India(Mother of Democracy) to address the disparities faced by Hindus.(Treat Hindu and Hindu Temple equally) mainly Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains.
1)Providing Hindu temples in India the same level of autonomy as religious institutions of other faiths and bring laws to bring transparience for donation/funds handling.
2)Facilitating the support of Hindu diaspora initiatives, particularly the construction of temples overseas, by permitting temples in India to contribute to such endeavors without excessive restrictions.
Discuss and seek answers to these topics when you meet with fellow Indians.
1)Why are laws regulating the administration of Hindu temples not applied to other religious groups such as Muslims, Christians and Parsis etc.?
2)Why were such laws predominantly enacted between 1950 and 1960?
3)Where are the funds collected from temples by the state allocated?
4)Is the regulatory framework the primary reason why Hindu temples often appear in poor condition, with everyone associated—from priests to committee members—constantly seeking donations, a situation not commonly observed in churches and mosques?
5)Is the practice of VIP darshan and ticketed entries primarily a result of regulatory measures? How do other religious traditions manage large gatherings without implementing such systems? Does this suggest that preferential treatment is uniquely associated with Hindu deities, whereas gods from other faiths do not permit such practices?
6)Does this regulatory framework contribute to the phenomenon of priests (Pujaris) showing more interest in direct donations received in the offering plate (Thali) rather than contributions to the temple fund (Hundi)?
7)Is this regulatory framework the reason why in Hindu temples we see a hundi everywhere?
8)Do you know how much the state government owes to Hindu temples?
....more to come
Statewise Laws are

Topic 3: Dual Citizenship:
We strongly support the provision of dual citizenship for individuals born in India who choose to pursue careers abroad. This ensures the honoring of our ancestral roots (Janambhumi) while embracing our adopted homeland (Karm Bhumi). Acknowledging our contributions to both nations is imperative without subjecting us to restrictive choices.Consider, for instance, Turkish citizens in Germany enjoy dual citizenship.
Our aspiration is to have the Team India and the respective teams of the Overseas Nations (Team Germany, Team Italy, Team France, etc.), along with other nations where we are settled, to include "OneAgenda from IndianDiaspora for IndiaVote2024" in their Agenda.
