One Piece Live Action

The Issue

As we all know, One Piece Live Action season two is approaching the Grand Line; it will feature the Loguetown arc and Drum Island arc before we move on to season three where the Alabasta saga truly begins. And the producers want to stretch Drum Island because of the raccoon dog's backstory, a backstory full of crocodile tears and made-up fables that might have worked in anime but risks becoming distraction, waste of time, waste of resources, and out of place in live action. The truth is straightforward: Drum Island is a detour that interrupts the rising stakes of the story. That is why we are pushing for Chopper and the entire Drum Island arc to be skipped altogether, allowing the season to maintain momentum instead of stopping the plot dead in its tracks for a storyline that doesn’t meaningfully shape the larger narrative.

From a pacing and structural standpoint, the case for skipping Drum Island entirely is even stronger. Season two must transition from the tight, character-centric East Blue arcs to the grand, sweeping political tensions of Alabasta. Drum Island, however charming, is an isolated winter island vignette that contributes little to the Baroque Works conflict, Crocodile’s looming threat, or the world-expanding stakes that define the Grand Line era. Devoting multiple episodes to a melodramatic backstory and a self-contained kingdom storyline risks slowing the show at the exact moment it needs to pick up speed. By removing Drum Island from the live-action path, the production team can focus resources, time, and emotional weight on the arcs that truly matter and prepare the audience for what’s coming.

That is why we are urging true fans to sign the petition now and let the production team know that we want a sharper, more streamlined season, one that doesn’t pause the journey to Alabasta for a snowy side story that drain budget, energy, and narrative impact. This is about rejecting a character, about ensuring the adaptation functions at its highest possible level. By skipping Drum Island, season two can give more attention to Loguetown, introduce core antagonists earlier, and build a stronger foundation for the epic conflict ahead. If you want a season that stays exciting, focused, and worthy of the Grand Line, then your voice matters. Support the petition, stand with us, and help ensure that season two delivers the tightest and most powerful version of the story possible.
