Petition to Maintain Educational Integrity in Olentangy Schools

Petition to Maintain Educational Integrity in Olentangy Schools
We, as parents, grandparents and taxpayers, have noticed a shift this year in the academics, atmosphere and overall experience our children are receiving in the Olentangy Local School District. As we all are aware, the Olentangy school district receives very little federal funding and is primarily funded by our taxes. Our tax dollars are put forth to support education that derives from fact-based academics, free from bias. We believe that parents should be the primary influence on their children IN ALL THINGS. We want all politics to be removed from our education system, for education to not go against anyone's religious beliefs and for the school system to empower all children to be confident and comfortable in a healthy learning setting. We want our children to be viewed as individuals of different cultures, colors, races and religions and taught to respect each other and not divide. Our school district, established in 1953, was built off of community and family, without division. We want American values.
We are requesting:
1) That each child regardless of their race, color, ability, political affiliation or gender identity be treated fairly and taught equally.
2) An education based on facts and free from all political, religious and social bias, that does not shame or discriminate for difference of thought.
3) The Olentangy school board meetings to be open for in-person attendance.
4) A bully prevention program implemented throughout the school district.
5) That each teacher and board member signs an agreement, with intentions defined, that is accessible to parents, to instruct our students without indoctrination - "We, the educators of Olentangy, agree to educate students in fact and keep personal political, religious and social beliefs out of the classroom. When controversial topics arise, we agree that both sides must be presented."
6) Health and sexual education be presented in a factual manner, leaving out personal choices based on gender.
7) For transparency of all academic resources and materials to be easily accessible if requested by the parents.
8) For any school sponsored activity that is cancelled to be done so publicly and with a reason presented.
By signing this petition, I am supporting the request above.
