Ofsted to overturn the grading of “Inadequate” at Cherubs Pre-school, Linton

The Issue

As a parent of two children that have attended and currently attend Cherubs Pre-school in Linton, I am outraged and saddened by the decision of Ofsted to downgrade Cherubs Pre-school from “Outstanding” to “Inadequate” due to its policy of texting secure photographs of children to their parents.

The school has a policy where photographs are sent to parents mobile phones to show that their children are happy and settled throughout their day at the Pre-school.  Parents welcome and consent to receiving photographs of their children as it offers comfort and visual re-assurance.

All parents sign a Photograph Consent form and ONLY receive photographs of THEIR children, no-body else's.  This very same policy was in place at Cherub's previous Ofsted inspection, which was graded as “Outstanding”.

It is my understanding that this policy is the only significant reason leading to the ‘inadequate’ rating.  Along with other parents, I am outraged and horrified that as a result, the official body has misrepresented the high standards of Cherubs Pre-School.  The report does not reflect that parents consent and value the photograph policy, the wonderful work of Cindy Fox and her long standing staff, or a school, that in the opinion of parents is a friendly, happy and safe learning environment for children.

The detrimental effect this grading has on the pre-school’s outstanding reputation, which has been built up over the last 12 years, and the effect it has on its funding is devastating to the school and the children of families in the local area.

We need Ofsted to listen and overturn the grading!

If you support Cherubs Pre-school’s policy of sending parents a secure photograph of their own children and the fantastic early learning provision the school provides, please sign our petition to overturn its incorrect Ofsted grading.

Thank you in advance for you support.
