Students from every background should have access to a practical drama education, if they do desire it....Many students choose drama as an escape from the rigorous expectations of other more academic subjects.   Many students have a talent in performing, and achieve high grade in their GCSE because of this skill, and it is a skill!.  They learn a plethora of different skills on their journey and many carve careers from this initial experience. Please lets not allow Drama and Performance to  become an elitist subject that is only offered and nurtured in private schools. The Art syllabus has been allowed to stay 80% practical so why is the proposal being offered for Drama 70% written and now only 30% practical!
