Bring Forward 2020 A-level and GCSE Results Days

The Issue

Current A-level and GCSE students are in limbo, not knowing whether they should continue working towards exams, incase they don't get the grades required to take them on into further education or employment, or not.

Results days have now been confirmed as being on Thursday the 13th of August, for A-level students, and Thursday the 20th of August, for GCSE students, as originally planned as the government website claims that "This will enable progression to higher and further education to take place in the normal way". However... nothing about this years exams is normal and this ought to be taken into consideration.

"Students who do not feel their calculated grade reflects their performance will have the opportunity to sit an exam as soon as is reasonably possible after the beginning of the new academic year", again according to the government website. These exams have been suggested to be in September, and with results only coming out in mid to late August this gives students no where near enough time to revise for these exams! By OFQUAL and the exam boards simply bringing results day forwards a couple of months would give students the time they need to work towards these September exams if necessary and would provide peace of mind to students who have achieved the grades they require.
