Officially Declare The Western Gray Squirrel A Threatened Species!

Officially Declare The Western Gray Squirrel A Threatened Species!
The Issue

The Western Gray Squirrel is a national treasure of America! Losing this magnificent native species would bring suffering to our ecosystem. The Western Gray Squirrel is subjected to high death rates because of wildfires, habitat loss, road-kill mortalities, hunting, pest control, and diseases such as Leptospira, Notoedric Mange, and Lyme Disease. If we don't act now, the squirrels may go extinct in the wild as early as 2075 or 2050. Several populations of Western Gray Squirrels have been completely extirpated, such as most of San Diego, most of Los Angeles, most of Fresno, most of San Francisco, and most of Portland as well as other former ranges. The IUCN cannot deny this! The population of Western Gray Squirrels are declining at an alarming rate, something needs to be done! The IUCN has absolutely no choice, but to change their current listing of "Least Concern" to "Vulnerable" or even "Endangered" There is no excuse to justify that the populations of these squirrels are doing great! Western Gray squirrels are nowhere near overpopulated or of least concern at all! The fact that The ICUN still lists this magnificent species as "Least Concern" is not only very appalling and untrue, but it is also putting the fate of the species at stake! If you want these poor innocent squirrels to live, sign this petition now and write your thoughts down in the comments below.
