Now we have concerns with the way these children are treated.When we look at Marc Herrmann's case we are aware of many abuses on this boy How should he defend himself when he is not even given a chance to have his own phone. This kind of treatment explains the secret deaths and secret sufferings of these voiceless children. Marc Herrmann has been abused in many ways since he was legally trafficked from his family. And we wonder if these social workers are aware of the neglect and harm they have done to this boy .We are not sure if CFSA knows about the effects of emotional child abuse are Emotional abuse by Medical and Social Professions on Marc Herrmann has harmed his self-image, self-esteem and interfere with his ability to function adequately in society, succeed academically and form healthy, intimate relationships. Not only Marc Herrmann but also all Children that have been emotionally abused may experience low self-esteem, inappropriate or troubled relationships, or a lack of empathy. Marc Herrmann already has difficulty to trust since his trust has been abused by Medical and Social System several times. His body has been abused my medical system .His emotionsl has been abused both by medical and Social system and his parents can not prevent this because their hands are tied Long-term Affects of emotional abuse on these children in care is high To force someone to eat more than 3000 Cal over a years just because one does not want to admit the real reason for his weight loss is abuse. Low weight is unhealthy but over weight too is unhealthy. Long tern protein powder consumption is harmful.Why Marc Herrmann can no longer maintain his weight since IVIG treatment is a huge question which no one wants to answer so the child is rather forced to eat until his stomach hurts.No one cares about his feelings. No one cares about his pains .He is a Teenager who wants to look nice too but this is not allowed. He is forced to eat every two hours so that he does not lose weight. How long this will go on is unknown unless one Doctor can stand up and find the real reason of his problem This is what we call not only physical abuse but also emotional and mental abuse. Kids who are psychologically abused are -more likely to become suicidal -more likely to have heart disease, cancer, chronic lung disease, and liver disease -twice as likely to be smokers, be severely obese and become alcoholics -three times as likely to develop a drug addiction. After looking at Marc Herrmann's files again and again and we have to say Blaming or belittling the child Marc Herrmann is abuse Describing the child negatively is also abuse Always assuming the child is at fault is another abuse Having unrealistic expectations for the child is already a huge abuse Threatening the child with severe punishments( cutting his visits from his parents/ referring him to Public Guardians, leaving him with total strangers like Foster Care ) Withdrawing comfort as a means of discipline on him is huge Being emotionally cold and un-supportive is what Marc Herrmann has been experiencing since he was taken away from his parents For Marc Herrmann is still hope since he has lived in a caring family home for the first 17 years so if he can close doors behind this Foster Care, CFSA and Medical Malpractices , he can rebuild what the emotional abuse has torn him down at home with his family. How can Doctors help Marc when his parents are not allowed to talk to them? 34. You known nothing about this child and yet you keep him and you harm him , why ? 35. The Judge did not consider the potential and likelihood of the guardian to abuse the power and control which would be granted to them, should circumstances warrant them to have sole custody status to the States . Why? 36. Is it the best interest of the child that he suffers and damaged in his young life? 37. There have been MASS "MURDER" BY THE FAMILY COURT SYSTEM in Alberta and yet you have the power to keep an innocent child and accuse innocent parents. How come? 38.There have been no previous history of child abuse by parents against the children but there is a confirmed abuse of many kids in your care and the likelihood that this abuse will continue in the future not only to Marc Herrmann but also to many other children is high and yes Judges of Family Court are always on the side of CF S.How just is your country? How much justice do you practice? 38. You have shown the lack of the capacity and willingness to encourage and maintain a child's relationship with their family and friends.Marc has been isolated since you took him away from his family 39. You also lack the capacity and willingness to Marc's schooling needs. His wish to be homeschooled has been denied and he has been kept away from education since a year. 40. All reports have shown that Marc Herrmann's parents involvement in their children's schooling has a direct and significant impact on their premature children's great performance 41.Marc Herrmann's parents have set a good role model for the children ( Both the twins are known for their politeness, cheerfulness, helpfulness, etc ) and which are important factors in the child's development and future opportunities which you have lacked to support 42. You have lacked in the moral fitness for Marc 43. And you also lacked the ability to provide for the care for Marc Herrmann who has become a broken child in your care and has developed Anxiety DisorderYour country has neglected both the twins .Due to the Heath Care cuts Marc did not receive the care he was supposed to .Due to your neglect his twin also was neglected at the South Campus Calgary . Isn' t that so ? The request of the parents for treatment in Marc and his twin brother were denied due to the lack of Alberta Health Care which was denied to the German parents who have been paying taxes since their arrival in 2007? 44. The wishes and preferences of the child has been ignored with one single reason( His cognitive test done by Dr Sereda and that was when he was unwell and did not even receive witness as he should have been ) 45.Why was Marc Herrmann at a place which is not approved by CFS ( for example , the mother of Foster Lady? ) 46. Why was placement plan not done together with the patents?Should he not be with someone whom he calls his family? Isn't it so that natural law should be respected and protected which you ignored? 47. Why a 17 years old is not allowed to have privacy and is kept at a place he is not loved and cared? Why the children in your care are denied Love? Why did you punish the patents for not trusting your diagnosis?Was Marc not misdiagnosed by your so called experts and human plasma was wrongly given and he nearly died after that ? Isn't it parents right to seek for second opinion after such fatal case?Isnt it so that you punished with cutting the connections between the child and parents because parents talked to Eating Disorder Team at the Richmond Street Calgary? Isn't it so that Eating Disorder Team stepped back and yet you did nit change or care for his Meal Plan? Isn't it so that your experts have failed to investigate the reason why Marc lost so much weight after receiving IVIG ? Isn't it so that Marc lost weight even in your care when you tried to normalize his meals?Marc still has problems maintaining his weight and yet this does not seem to bother you.Marc was a premature baby and always had weight problems .But have you considered more about his health than weight? If you keep on feeding him huge amount only will his health not harmed? Isn't it normal for a person to decide for his meals? Isnt it so that Marc ' s weight gain is only due to huge amounts of food he must eat daily ? And with little to no activities? Does it not show that the worries of his parents are valid? Does it not explain that Marc' s health issues have not been investigated and yet you refused the rights of a human to seek for other opinions 48 How do you know that your Foster Placements are safer than his home when children die in your care regularly? 49.How old is Marc exactly? 50.PDD is the diagnosis which says nothing and yet you use it to keep him in your care without further opinions .Isn't it so that you also assessed the child with a Doctor who was not on the list of the assessors of Office of Public Guardians? Isn't it so that your experts have failed to help Marc when he complained about his stomach pains due to his lactose intolerance ? Isnt it so that the medical team from both hospitals has misdiagnosed Marc many times? Starting with Miller Fisher , Wernickes, EDNOS( which you told to parents and the court that it is proven and yet Eating Disorder Team did not offer program to Narc due to the lack of symptoms) Isnt it so that new exotic illness was again given to Marc ( ARFID) ? Was it correct to accuse Marc as A child practising Ascerticism? Was it correct to accuse him as Gay or Gender confused? Was it correct to neglect him at the hospital? ( His heart Monitor was offline , his room was dirty,nurses used toilet paper to write his daily vitals, his urine cups never cleaned etc) His patents could not hug him even since you were dirty minded .Isn't that so?You punished his parents for writing a note : i love you .Isn't that cruel and unusual punishment?Isn't that correct that you forced the parents with assessment from an assessor you chose? Isn't it so that you violated all human rights , children rights and patient rights? Isn't it so that instead of helping the parents with PDD office you referred the poor kid to Office of the Public Guardians? Isn't it correct that OPG Alberta is only for Albertans and Marc is not even a permanent citizen. We could go on and on But one question would answer many How corrupt is your system? One twin can experience a physical sensation of something that is happening to their twin .Other times they will find that they perform similar actions even when they're apart, such as buying the same item, the same color or the same hair cut. Twins can also express the other twins' emotional pains , through physical pains. Twins seem to share an inherent understanding of their co-twin's emotional state. For example when we look at Marc Herrmann's case we see phenomenons These twins really read each other's minds.They really can feel the sadness and pains of the other twin. We can not blame the medical team when they have to throw their hands up and are left with exotic diagnosis. Twins, this is a subject which we will never know. What we for sure know is that they have deep emotional connection, that produces an intense sense of empathy, strong enough to generate physical sensations, such as feeling pain when a co-twin is hurting. Twins also know each other so intimately, that they can often predict how their twin will speak or behave. Now when we look at Marc Herrmann, he is not only one of the twins but also a premature twin micro baby so we do not wonder when Doctors call these kids mystery kids..The earlier the birth, the greater the risk of complications for the babies. When we look at Twins Herrmann we see very tall and handsome boys who had 2.2 pounds at the birth How can this happen? It can happen when parents invest lots of love and time for these premature babies.The earlier the birth, the greater the risk of complications for the babies and parents need to invest every minute they can give. Prematurity touches families' lives and can have lifelong consequences, starting with Lungs.Babies, born before 34 weeks, have trouble breathing air. Respiratory distress syndrome can be treated with artificial breathing assistance and with substances that helps immature lungs expand. Sometimes the life-saving measures can result in chronic lung disease or bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and may require ongoing treatment. While Marc's twin brother was lucky , Marc has to fight with his Lungs problems. Sometimes Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH) is bleeding in the brain that affects babies born before 32 weeks too. Now we have a picture of how much love and time parents must invest to keep these babies alive. One micro baby alone needs enough attention but imagine two ,Imagine having two micro babies! Marc Herrmann's parents were one of those parents and they have raised kids whom no one would believe that they once were premature tiny little beings Let us continue with these babies and their problems.They had to fight for their lives since the Birth. Because the next problem is the ductus arteriosus which allows babies to receive oxygen through the umbilical cord, bypassing the lungs. At birth, this blood vessel is supposed to close. But some of these Premature infants can develop Patent Ductus Arteriosus, which causes abnormal blood flow between major blood vessels surrounding the heart. It can lead to heart failure. Same with Marc Herrmann who carried Bypass in Germany. And then comes the next problem. The pemature babies' digestive systems are not ready to process food and Newborns can develop severe infections. Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) can result in bowel obstruction or tissue death . Many premature infants also develop problems with their eyes and poor Marc who used to wear very strong glasses today is left with bad eyes and he is not given a chance to see a specialist who would look into his problems. He is allowed to visit only the same Doctor ,the CFS allows This is tragic that this child has no right to life since the CFS , Medical team and the Judge would not support him to be cared by his parents who knows him and can care for him the best. We wonder what people would do if Marc dies in their care because he did not get any chance to see Doctors who may have better idea about his health than just feeding him endlessly until he is overweight. Food is a good thing but over feeding a child just to prevent unexplainable quick weight loss Is torture and not help. In April , Marc Herrmann’s meal plan was normalized ( normalize means , no more 4000 cals per day for a 17 years old teen) and he lost atleast 10 pounds within 20 days. Instead of trying to find out his problem the medical team and CFS has ordered the Foster Placement to feed the child huge amounts . The team seemed to have over looked his Ethic, his early Birth and his real medical problems. The child will soon be over weight and will have heart problems, Diabetes, High blood pressure but no one really worries about that as long as his weight is gaining and gaining When we looked at his meal plan we are shocked. This meal plan is not updated since April/May 2014 and it is not even specialized for Marc Herrmann but seems to have taken from an Eating Disorder Program. Since parents were not allowed to see these Dieticians or talk to them, there is no way to help Marc with a healthy meal plan, fit for his age , ethic and medical background. As a premature baby the child has different structure than normal birth babies and it is not advisable for a premature baby who already has digestive problems to force feed him with huge amounts. This is his body and this is his right to decide whether he wants to look healthy or obese but to force him to become obese is in our eyes abuse If a child is suffering under quick and unexplainable weight when his meal is normalized then this child may be seriously ill. Have these people in Canada thought about it? When we look at his images we can see a child with a huge stomach for his age. Weight is not health is what we would say! This child needs a proper diet and proper meal plan and not over feeding anymore since he is not underweight. Medical professions need to respect his wishes and should allow him to be seen by Drs he trusts so that his problems can be solved before it is too late. T starve a child is abuse but to over feed a child also is abuse. Excess Protein May Fuel Weight Gain, Yeast Overgrowth, and Cancer. Lowering Protein Intake can Extend Lifespan and we think it is a torture to force a teen such huge meals when his body can not handle. Over weight around his belly will cause bone problems, depression, backache and many more. Protein powder too should not be used for longer period of time and as we understand, Marc has been receiving this powder since March 2014.He too has been given Iron Tablets ever since and no one has considered to examine this child. Here is extreme neglect in picture ever since he was taken away from his parents ‘ home.No one has an idea about the symptoms of his problems A 2008 medical study raised alarms about increased problems for preemies throughout their lifetime. Researchers from Duke University Medical Center followed over one million babies They concluded that premature infants are:more likely to die during childhood Yes both Marc and his twin were told not to be able to survive and they did. They did great until 2012 when Marc was misdiagnosed .All the work the parents have invested was in vain because thru that misdiagnosis and maltreatment Marc has not only lost his health but also his loving parents and his twin brother. All NICU patients are closely monitored. A micro preemies like Marc and his twin also have had wired stickers on chests , feet, wrists, arms, and legs to measure their heart and breathing rates and blood's oxygen saturation for first 3 years. How can CFS take away such child from his life savers? What do they know about Marc? How are they going to save his life when they do not know this child? Marc Herrmann has a very weak lungs and his weak lungs show signs of weakness through bloated swollen face( No it is not that he has double chin from weight gain, instead Swelling of the face (face edema) which caused by his weak lungs. His parents have always watched out for every symptom to prevent the loss of their child’s life but since a year they can only look at him and is not allowed to help .How cruel is that? The reality is that some premature multiples will develop lasting disabilities. And some premature will lead lives with absolutely no indications of their early start in life until teenage years. Premature babies are also at increased risk for cerebral palsy and digestive problems The most common long-term effect of prematurity is some form of learning disability but when we look at Marc and his twin's writings we wonder how much time their parents must have taken for themselves. NONE!.They must have invested every second for these micro babies because both the twins would write like little professors. Next we tried to research on the theme how Twins react when they are separated because Marc who never had an anxiety disorder has developed this disorder since he was taken away from his parents and his twin.Anxiety is defined as a psychological condition where a person experiences excessive anxiety due to a separation from home In particular, it is a mental health disorder that is characterized by worry, which is out of proportion to the situation of separation . With twins the anxiety can cause further and serious illnesses . Constant complaints about headaches, stomach aches, nausea, vomiting and many other illnesses- when separation is expected . In other words twins will face potentially fatal health problems when they are separated by force. We can now understand the worries of the parents of Marc Herrmann who know their child the best and want him to be examined by specialists .Knowing the health of their son who is not getting a proper medical care since he was misdiagnosed and mistreated with wrong medication must be brutal experience for Mom and Dad Herrmann There is no way to predict individual outcomes for premature babies and premature twins but parents are in this case who can ensure the best outcome and this family has proved it and we hope the parents Herrmann can soon embrace their boy Marc Herrmann and help him with his traumas and medical problems. We hope the help will not be too late for Marc Herrmann. ______________________________________________________ CASE STUDY : MARC HERRMANN PART III Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID; also known as Selective Eating Disorder, SED) is an eating disorder that prevents the consumption of certain foods That means everyone has ARFID!? How many diagnosis or assumptions were painted on this poor child? First Marc had Miller Fisher ( Dr Kirton. Alberta Children's Hospital) Then wernicke's encephalopathy( Dr Kirton. Alberta Children's Hospital) Then he has gender confusin( Dr pinzon Alberta Children's Hospital) Then he is like a holy man and practices Asceticism( Dr pinzon Alberta Children's Hospital) Then it was his parents and twin brother who made him believe that he is ill because they took care of him too much( Dr pinzon Alberta Children's Hospital) Then it is proven that he has Eating Disorder NOS ( Unit 4 Alberta Children's Hospital) Ok the parents did not agree with the diagnosis so let them be punished and force the Court to take their Custody away and let the kid thrown into the mental Unit Sure Eating Disorder is a mental illness so he must be in the mental unit . But this child has no mental issues. But he needs a certificate to be kept there so the certificate saying " he is harmful to himself and to others"should be created .It was not who he was but who cares. He is just a child. His parents have no custody anymore so power to the Medical Team and CFS Still this child is defending himself? No problem! People silenced him by keeping him away from knowledge about the diagnosis . No one was allowed to inform him about EDNOS .Wow how easy was that! He was only 16 and he could not know anything about DSM stuff. His parents were helping him with information about EDNOS. so that was non compliance. After EDNOS diagnosis, next one was needed , Cognitive Test. After 1 and 1/2year of misdiagnosis and mistreatment cognitive test was done( Dr Serda) alone with the child, without a witness. Parents still were wanting for second opinion? No problem . One or the other Doctors from the Team played as second opinion, and same answers were given, So Dr Owen again wrote the same what Dr Pinzon wrote ( EDNOS) Parents still complained at the court? no problem, they were told by Judge not to talk against Doctors. Whew! This must have been a nightmare The day came, the child was supposed to be discharged but these parents still wanted him to be examined by independent Doctors, so the child was diagnosed as retard and sent to Foster Care. Now, meal plan was normalized and Boom.. this child lost again weight . So huge meal plan was again on the table so that he does not lose weight and they could say to parents, the child is still gaining weight We would gain weight too if we would eat daily over 3400 to 4000 calories but we would be obese and have high blood pressure and diabetes very soon too .But this does not solve the real problem why this child must eat so much without activities. Now, the Eating Disorder Team ( Dr Vyver ) stepped back and closed the file with him because he does not fit to the Eating Disorder Program But no one did everything for nothing Something should come here so he was diagnosed with ARFID Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID; also known as Selective Eating Disorder, SED) is an eating disorder that prevents the consumption of certain foods. The American Psychiatric Association publishes the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM), which is widely called the “label bible” of psychiatry. They are currently engaged in a revision from DSM IV to DSM 5. APA plans to publish in 2013. But the DSM is often used by the mental health industry, and other fields, to take away people’s human rights, and to defame their character. Here is a list adapted from Allen Frances’ Psychology Today blog. Dr. Frances is one of the lead authors of the DSM-IV. Best not to just take the word of the APA since it’s quite powerful. The DSM-5 is too risky to ignore. The DSM-5 needs independent review. The DSM-5 adds many new and untested diagnoses so many more people will get psychiatric labels. Paula Kaplan has thoroughly documented stories of people harmed by psychiatric labels. Medications help some people but harm others and may increase disability. This happens because doctors know how to put people on meds, but don’t know how to help people through discontinuation syndromes and withdrawal effects when people try to come off meds. Much evidence shows that many meds may have no long term benefit in the aggregate. DSM-5 uses field trials that only check whether labels can be applied and doesn’t check their usefulness. Labels like attenuated psychosis syndrome will make many young people needlessly believe that they have schizophrenia, often thought of as the “worst psychiatric label.” Yet we’ve know since 1978 that antipsychotics cause psychosis. From Allen Frances: “But what is the most compelling reason for signing the petition to reform DSM 5? This is easy. Our first responsibility as physicians is to DO NO HARM!!! We guess it’s a bit more like software releases with a scientific feel, allowing incremental revisions in the future. Everyone at some time in their lives will experience a mental disorder.” HERE ARE NO DEFINITIVE LABORATORY TESTS FOR ANY SO-CALLED MENTAL DISORDER. And along with that: ALL SO-CALLED MENTAL DISORDERS ARE CONCOCTED, NAMED, LABELED, DESCRIBED, AND CATEGORIZED by a committee of psychiatrists, from menus of human behaviors. Their findings are published in periodically updated editions of The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), printed by the American Psychiatric Association. For years, even psychiatrists have been blowing the whistle on this hazy crazy process of “research.” Of course, pharmaceutical companies, who manufacture highly toxic drugs to treat every one of these “disorders,” are leading the charge to invent more and more mental-health categories, so they can sell more drugs and make more money. But we have a mind-boggling twist. Under the radar, one of the great psychiatric stars, who has been out in front inventing mental disorders, went public. He blew the whistle on himself and his colleagues. And for several years, almost no one noticed. His name is Dr. Allen Frances, and he made VERY interesting statements to Gary Greenberg, author of a Wired article: “Inside the Battle to Define Mental Illness.” (Dec.27, 2010). Major media never picked up on the interview in any serious way. It never became a scandal. Dr. Allen Frances is the man who, in 1994, headed up the project to write the (then) latest edition of the psychiatric bible, the DSM-IV. This tome defines and labels and describes every official mental disorder. The DSM-IV eventually listed 297 of them. In an April 19, 1994, New York Times piece, “Scientist At Work,” Daniel Goleman called Frances “Perhaps the most powerful psychiatrist in America at the moment…” Well, sure. If you’re sculpting the entire canon of diagnosable mental disorders for your colleagues, for insurers, for the government, for Pharma (who will sell the drugs matched up to the 297 DSM-IV diagnoses), you’re right up there in the pantheon. Long after the DSM-IV had been put into print, Dr. Frances talked to Wired’s Greenberg and said the following: “There is no definition of a mental disorder. It’s bullshit. I mean, you just can’t define it.” BANG. That’s on the order of the designer of the Hindenburg, looking at the burned rubble on the ground, remarking, “Well, I knew there would be a problem.” After a suitable pause, Dr. Frances remarked to Greenberg, “These concepts [of distinct mental disorders] are virtually impossible to define precisely with bright lines at the borders.” Frances might have been referring to the fact that his baby, the DSM-IV, had rearranged earlier definitions of ADHD and Bipolar to permit many more diagnoses, leading to a vast acceleration of drug-dosing with highly powerful and toxic compounds. Finally, at the end of the Wired interview, Frances flew off into a bizarre fantasy: “Diagnosis [as spelled out in the DSM-IV] is part of the magic…you know those medieval maps? In the places where they didn’t know what was going on, they wrote ‘Dragons live here’…we have a dragon’s world here. But you wouldn’t want to be without the map.” Translation: Patients need hope for the healing of their troubles; so even if we psychiatrists are shooting blanks and pretending to know one kind of mental disorder from another, even if we’re inventing these mental-disorder definitions based on no biological or chemical diagnostic tests—it’s a good thing, because patients will then believe and have hope; they’ll believe it because psychiatrists place a name on their problems… Needless to say, this has nothing to do with science. Since parents have nothing to hide, they were not prepared for such a dirty and cruel game.They also are not Canadians and were not aware of the unexpected ordeal that service providers was about to unleash on them and their vulnerable twins.
