Offer College Tuition Coverage as Black Slavery Reparations

   I made this petition to make sure that it is clearly stated that we need the Biden Administration to Offer College Tuition Coverage as Black Slavery Reparations. This issue affects the Black/African American community, and we need this issue addressed now. Please sign and share with others!

     As an African American male, I have seen and now understand the effects that slavery and race relations still have on the United States of America today. Systemic racism has long arms that seem invisible to some, but real and deathly to others. The patterns that have, and still are occurring create a real disparity between races when it comes to education in general. For many African Americans getting a quality education is an afterthought. While this is true for many people of a plethora of ethnicities, it is emphatically true for some African Americans. There has been statistical progress for blacks starting and finishing a secondary education, but the sheer amount of, sometimes crippling, debt from student loans is something that should be alleviated then eradicated. The cost of college tuition is too expensive for all students. 

     The work that needs to be done to bring about the change needed should start at homes within the hearts of anyone and everyone who can individually find the resolve to become something bigger than themselves in a positive way that pays forward from generation to generation. If more of us take this approach, we can continue to build upon the foundation laid by civil rights leaders and all who have altruistically put their lives on the line for the sake of the downtrodden. 

     Slavery in the United States did occur. Massacres and genocidal acts did occur. Reparations were few and far in between for a select few of freedmen and women. It is my deepest and most sincere hope that you will take the time to consider a federal mandate that allows all descendants of American slaves to attend any public university in the United States tuition free as a memorial to all that suffered and died while contributing to help make America the powerful nation it is today. Free Tuition Slavery Reparation is the formal request.
