KCOM holds an effective monopoly over Hull and the surrounding area's broadband and telecoms services, and consistently fails to provide an adequate level of service to it's customers despite this. We believe that OFCOM should investigate the monopoly held by KCOM, and force them to open up their phone lines to other national providers, many of whom offer a better service for a lower price. The absence of choice ensures that it is very difficult for consumers to leave KCOM even when their service is inadequate, and means that KCOM do not need to price their products competitively.
