Student Yearbook Quotes
The Issue
For as long as education can remember, students have always had the pleasure of leaving behind a piece of themselves when graduating.
Student yearbook quotes are more than just that, a quote. They are what allow students to leave behind a piece of themselves, where they can express their personality among other students for years on end. These quotes are what the adolescents of today will look back on multiple years from now in reminiscence of the four years they spent at high school. Alongside this, future students are also able to relate to former graduates, and speculate the journey of those who came before them.
This year, the administration of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School, (CSS) and Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board (DPCDSB) have decided to silence students board wide. In doing this, the administration not only censors the creativity of students, but they also bring restriction to the rights of students having a voice. No longer will the young adults of tomorrow have the opportunity to demonstrate what makes them unique.
Together, we are able to fight for and show the importance of these quotes. All past generations have shared the enjoyment of this tradition, and there should be no plan to halt it anytime soon.
