Tonight, in a 6 to 1 vote, the school board voted to approve the rezoning the elementary schools in our area starting with the Fall 2017 school year which includes the split of MetroWest Elementary into 2 schools on the existing campus. Only one parent made it to the meeting representing MetroWest to speak out against this. 2 other parents from Windy Ridge were present as well and spoke out against it as well. But the school board has voted and the rezone with the school split will take place. To view this meeting please go to the youtube video below, the section regarding the split begins at 1 hour, 19 minutes and 20 seconds.
Pam has pledged to have another community meeting in the near future to discuss updated plans, but no date has been given yet. Unfortunately without further community involvement it appears that the board's desire to split the school into two K-5 schools on the existing campus will continue to move forward.
