Oceanside Unified Board Meeting Tonight! 6pm!
We had a great meeting last Saturday, it was nice to get to meet everyone, discuss the fall reopening issues and get feedback from you all.
Exactly what we need more of in Oceanside, active parent involvement in making our kids education the best it can be.
We’re nowhere near done with this yet, we’re not giving up on our kids.

Some of our group is discussing an effort to raise a legal fight to continue the efforts for our kids.
That is not expensive, our lawyer members are donating their time, but there is some money involved – in filing fees as well as things like the cost of this website, etc.
Please, please, please, if you want to contribute a few dollars to that effort, click the “Donate Now” button to do that. If each of the 629 people who signed this petition donated just a few dollars we’d have what we need to get started.
Is it worth a few dollars to you to fight for something that could truly help your kids succeed?
There is a difficult road ahead. We need all the parent power we can get to make this happen.
Short term, however, we have a School Board meeting happening tonight.
As we all know, a majority of parents wanted to see a full-time option in their plans, and that did not happen. The district completely ignored the wishes of most of their parents.
The Board agenda mentions nothing of a presentation of that option. We can see item 6A is the only related item on the agenda, and all it says is “Staff will present information regarding the Governor’s mandate for districts on the state monitoring list to open with distance learning. San Diego County is on that monitoring list.”
Once again it appears parent voices are going to be ignored by our district.
We need those voices to be as loud and clear as possible.
