Government should put more funding into Wave Energy Converters

The Issue

A wave energy converter (WEC) is a device that is put in the ocean. There are many different types of WEC's but for the most part, they sit on the top of the water collecting the kinetic energy of the ocean.
The government is providing more and more money for solar energy. This is fantastic, but the government appears to be forgetting that ocean waves can be used to power cities too.
I propose that we fund these companies and help develop wave energy to be more efficient. 1 wave that is 4ft and strikes the coast at 10 seconds can have an average of more than 35,000 horsepower(hp) according to Ocean Energy Council. To put that into perspective, a 2020 ford mustang has a max horsepower of 480hp.
