OBJECTION TO PRIVATE HELIPAD – MERRIWA NSW

The issue

We the undersigned oppose this proposal as it will have a major affect on our residential neighbourhood, peaceful rural setting and serve no benefit to our community. It will also negatively impact our environment, homes, roads, sporting fields and health with undesirable and intrusive noise pollution.

DA 30/2022 has been lodged with the Upper Hunter Shire Council for the development of a private Helipad at 4 King George V Avenue, Merriwa NSW 2329. This is an absurd application for a populated, residential area within our town and which is also a documented Heritage Conservation Area.

It is our stance that a helipad will completely undermine the character and ambience of our quality rural lifestyle in our quiet, safe and healthy community. The additional noise pollution will detract from the overall harmony of our community and is inappropriate for a residential area.

Should this development application be approved it will set a dangerous precedent for the entire Upper Hunter Shire Council for further applications of this nature.

Upper Hunter Shire Council need to act in the interest of the wider community and ultimately decline this application.
