Object to Ibis Barlborough housing illegal migrants

Object to Ibis Barlborough housing illegal migrants
The Issue
Residents of Barlborough, UK, are facing a growing crisis as our local resources are stretched to their limits. Unfortunately, my family has experienced this struggle firsthand. My father, in need of medical attention, was forced to travel to Doncaster Hospital instead of receiving timely treatment at Chesterfield, our local health facility. The waiting times at Chesterfield have extended to over 18 months, illustrating the dire state of our local NHS services.
Adding to this strain, the proposed use of the Ibis Hotel in Barlborough to house illegal migrants raises significant concerns. Barlborough is a rural area that already faces challenges in terms of healthcare accessibility, educational resources, and general public services. Our community does not have the infrastructure to accommodate this additional burden.
The Ibis Barlborough is not suitable for this purpose, and its use for housing migrants would exacerbate existing issues. The resources available in rural communities like ours are not comparable to those in urban areas, making it difficult to support an influx of new residents effectively.
This situation is not sustainable and threatens the well-being of our current residents. We urge the relevant authorities to reconsider the decision to house illegal migrants in our local Ibis Hotel. Instead, alternative locations with better resources and infrastructure should be identified to provide for the needs of both residents and newcomers.
Supporting this petition means advocating for a fair and practical solution that respects the needs of both migrants and the existing community of Barlborough. Ensuring that everyone can access necessary services and live in harmony should be our priority.
