The issue

As a life long member of the West End/ Highgate Hill community it felt wrong to stay silent on the Development Application of 107 Gladstone Road. It is proposed that the iconic 1932 building (home to Growthlife Medical) and the surrounding shops (gotta love Lifecycle) on the top of Gladstone Road will be demolished and replaced with massive a four storey retail development. The current design raises concerns of how the scale and aesthetic of the development affects the streetscape (in terms of it's dominating scale and metropolitan aesthetic in a medium density, character driven suburb) and the pressures it will inflict on traffic. Having this application approved without review will be a loss for the streetscape of Highgate Hill.

If you agree that this development application needs to be objected and reassessed please sign this petition so we can get council to open their see that we don’t want Highgate Hill’s iconic buildings to fall to the way-side and replaced with non-community driven architecture.

Thank you for reading and showing your support :)
