The attached zoning plan shows an area for the size of 1540 decares area in Oba District at the hospital area.

The parks are described in the zoning plan as green areas which meet recreation needs of people live in the city. However; the park area understanding of Alanya Municipality is finding a way to construct more buildings.

Although there are dozens of social facility areas and sports areas allocated in the zoning plan, the municipality keeps constructing on Park areas. As shown in the attachment, the parcels planned as park areas were built and still keep building various buildings on these parcels whereas there isn’t any park in our region.

1-     A huge facility was built in 2019 as ‘Funeral Services Facility ‘on the 6 decares park area.

2-     ‘’Cyber Security Technology Centre ‘’ facility was built on 2020 on the 2 decares park area and this facility stands idle.

3-     The construction of sports centre has started in 2021 on the 6 decares park area. Oba District, which is experiencing rapid urbanization and population growth, is losing its green areas and trees....In this parcel where sports centre construction is underconstruction, olive, orange, palm trees have been destroyed within a day and concrete and steel structures have been placed to the last square meter of the parcel.

A Huge Sports Centre with 18 meter floors height is squeezed in our 6 decares park area surrounded by residential units and narrow roads. There are ongoing court cases about this construction which is breaching the building codes of the region.

However, construction keeps going day and night, including weekends in hurry-scurry .Our municipality shut its ears to demands of the residents and gives priority to its own benefits than community’s benefits.

Why is the Municipality of Alanya hijacking our park areas while there are dozens of social facility areas and sports areas allocated in the zoning plan?  In our region, which needs outdoor recreation so much, for what reason does it demolish the green areas one by one?...Why and for the sake of what?

Oba District residents, we should claim our park areas.
