Oakey 4401 Rainbow Staircase

The issue

Rainbow stairs are a symbol of commitment to an inclusive and diverse community.

In the original eight-colour version, pink stood for sexuality, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for the sun, green for nature, turquoise for art, indigo for harmony and violet for the soul.

This is an expression of interest to create an art installation of rainbow stairs on The Oakey Railway Pedestrian Bridge.

I believe this would be of benefit to Oakey 4401 on many levels.
Nationally and globally, these art installations become major tourist attractions, see links below.
This is a sign of diversity and inclusion, Pride month of June is a fantastic opportunity to show solidarity with all members of the community.
It will aesthetically, bring colour to an otherwise grey concrete space that is located in the heart of Oakey CBD.

National and International rainbow stairs that exist are listed below:
The University of Wollongong (UOW):  has officially opened a permanent rainbow-coloured staircase today (Monday 12 April 2021) to celebrate diversity and inclusion at the University. https://www.illawarramercury.com.au/story/7205320/michael-kirby-drops-into-uow-for-official-rainbow-staircase-opening/
