PLEASE HELP US SUPPORT HOUSE BILL 688! TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!
Our State Representative, Deanne Mazzochi has a bill before the legislature that will allow for there to be some broader oversight for our many historic structures and places….in our case, the dam on Salt Creek at the Graue Mill.
The dam is an integral part of the historic area, and since 1837 a dam in that location has provided power, beauty and historical context to the Graue Mill area.
If you are a resident of the State of Illinois, PLEASE REGISTER YOUR SUPPORT OF HOUSE BILL 688 BY SENDING IN A ‘WITNESS SLIP’…..It is easy to do and here are some “helps” to make it even easier!
*The bill is called for hearing this week, so please file your slip by NOON on WEDNESDAY, 3/10/21.
*The form asks for your “Firm or Business” – Enter “SELF”, unless you wish to speak for your company or organization. The “Title” Box – same answer. “SELF”
*The section on POSITION: BE SURE TO CHECK PROPONENT.
*The section on TESTIMONY: Check “Record of Appearance Only” (This let’s the committee know of your position on the Bill without your having to actually testify. You are indicating support for Representative Mazzochi’s bill.
