Domestic Violence Awareness and Parole Denial in the case of Mary Gugino

Domestic Violence Awareness and Parole Denial in the case of Mary Gugino
The Issue
Please sign this petition to ensure the safety and protection of my family and our community by ensuring the continued incarceration of Timothy Dansa, an inmate in a NY state correctional facility. Dansa is currently serving a 25 to LIFE sentence for the brutal murder of my mother, Mary Gugino, on May 15th, 1988. This is Dansa's fourth time in front of the parole board, and hopefully with enough signatures and sharing of this petition, we can make sure he is not released.
In the early morning of May 15, 1988 Timothy Dansa "ramboed" into Mary Gugino's place of employment and gunned her down in front of a restaurant full of both children and adults. This was a premeditated murder, Dansa threatened Mary days before, sold his belongings, and told everyone to watch the News on Monday because he would be on TV. Dansa and Mary had a child together, Jamie Gugino, who was only 8 years old at the time. While Mary pleaded for her life that day, she also asked Dansa, "what about Jamie?". Dansa proceeded to chase Mary around that diner and shot her numerous times, in her back, through her stomach. While she lied on the floor helpless and critically wounded, he shot her one last time in her head.
Dansa fled the scene, hid, and was soon apprehended and arrested. A year later he was convicted of Murder in the 2nd degree and sentenced to 25 years to LIFE. As security was leading him out of the court room just after sentencing, he turned to Mary’s family and said “so what she’s still dead”, with not an ounce of remorse for his actions.
The terror Dansa unleashed was not limited to just one day. Mary suffered broken bones, knocked out teeth, and many beatings over the years. This is a dangerous man who terrorized not only Mary, but also brutally beat his young innocent daughter, and bullied the entire neighborhood. He was a "frightening father", in the words of Jamie, "he was a monster, pure evil".
When Dansa was sent to prison, Mary’s loved ones felt more than justice, they finally felt safe. The one thing that still helps them sleep soundly at night is knowing that he is locked behind bars.
This will change if Dansa is released.
The release of Timothy Dansa on parole would be a serious injustice to Mary’s daughter, family, friends and society as a whole. He is a violent, vengeful, selfish person, incapable of rehabilitation. Please keep him incarcerated for the safety of any community.
The undersigned petition members of the Board to DENY parole of Timothy Dansa.
