The Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Siting and Maritime Uses is scheduled on November 1st to vote on the fate of the proposed Bronx Animal Shelter and Veterinary Low Cost Facility.
City Council Member Andy King, who has unwaveringly expressed his opposition since the initial proposal of this immensely important project, held a community meeting on Monday, October 22, 2018. Out of over 50,000 Bronx residents, fewer than 40 people attended. Based on a hand count, Council Member King again expressed his opposition to this worthy project which would benefit his constituents and their companion animals, as well as the residents of the ENTIRE Bronx and their companion animals. Ultimately, the effects would be felt by all of New York City’s residents and benefit ALL of New York City’s pet population.
We are in dire NEED of calls and emails to Speaker Corey Johnson. Please see below for an example:
Dear Speaker Johnson
"Please do not allow one member of the Council to act as an obstacle to the proposed Bronx Animal Shelter and Veterinary Clinic. Please support and vote in favor for this worthwhile project, which will benefit the Bronx’s and ultimately all of the City’s 2- and 4-legged residents."
