The students of NUI Galway want the opening hours of the reading room to be extended. 

CMLOÉG wants the reading room opened earlier and later than the current library hours (Monday-Friday 8:30am-10:00pm, Sat- 8:30am-5:30pm, Sun- 10:00am-5:30pm). Additional study spaces are opening over the exam period but the hours aren’t satisfactory enough for students. 

Students are incredibly worried about the reintroduction of in person exams and it’s not fair to have the study spaces on campus only opened until 10pm. These students are expected to learn material off for the first time in nearly two years. Exams this year are not open book like last year. Students have to put a tremendous amount of work to prepare for closed book, in person exams and the opening hours of our study spaces need to reflect this.
