David McMaster worked as a Paediatric Specialist at The Tweed Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital for over 20 years. He was well-known for his nurturing, empathetic and thorough approach - going above and beyond for his patients and their families.

David was very well respected in the local community for his hardworking, determined and professional manner. He was an inspiration to not only his children and family; but also his friends and colleagues alike. He was a great mentor and paved the way for himself, and other health professionals in Paediatric medicine in Australia.

His loss has been felt immensely throughout our community. He will be dearly missed. 

David McMaster is more than worthy to have the Paediatric Ward at the newly developed Tweed Valley Hospital named in his honour - there is absolutely no one more deserving.
