The West Culburra Housing Development proposal by Sealark is still pending a final decision by the Land & Environment Court and you have played a part in making this court sit up and listen to Shoalhaven residents and ratepayers. Thank you! Now its time to get the Shoalhaven Council to sit up and listen. We need them to reverse their support for this and other environmentally damaging developments in our region. Several Shoalhaven Councillors are up for election on Saturday September 4th and there are new faces running for council who support our campaign BUT there are many who don't. The group calling themselves Shoalhaven Independents are the councillors who voted to support the West Culburra Development Proposal and they have put Mitchell Pakes up for Mayor. Pakes is the councillor who put the motion to Council to support the West Culburra Development that was passed earlier this year. It was seconded by Greg Watson who has traditionally been a big supporter of developers in the region. To continue our fight against inappropriate development, we need Shoalhaven RESIDENTS and RATEPAYERS to come out in unprecedented numbers in September and vote AGAINST these and the other 'Shoalhaven Independents' running for council.
Ratepayers who are NOT residents will need to register to vote with Shoalhaven Council. Non- residents are allowed 1 vote per property. You need to download a special form and apply before Monday 26th July. The form for ratepayers is not easy to find, so please email CRRAG (Culburra Residents and Ratepayers Action Group) for a copy of the ratepayers enrollment form: Crraginc@gmail.com
Please vote against anyone who supports the West Culburra Development in the Shoalhaven Council Elections!
