November first should be a school remote day

November first should be a school remote day
The Issue
Halloween has always fallen short due to having school the next day, it is always a struggle waking up the next day after being up late. Having school the next day has led to families not being able to make the most out of the once-a-year event. In a poll ran at debate.org, a staggering 87 percent of participants voted in favor of cancelling school the day after Halloween. It would enable people to enjoy it to its fullest while still being caught up with school. It would also give teacher a break since they would have to teach a class after Halloween. Another reason is that students won’t have to worry about school the next day. According to the US National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health, sleep deprived children are unable to pay attention and do not have much short-term memory. There is no reason to be having teachers try to teach students that will not remember what they learned the next day, making the teacher to have to re-teach the subject. As it explains, many students are often tired the next day and aren't able to pay attention to class. Lastly, people who celebrate All- Saints Day Día de Los Muertos won’t get to have the full experience with their families if they have to go to school. Overall it benefits everyone to have November 1st as a remote day. So there.
