Hey -- at some point in 2021, the university announced it had raised $6 billion. Do you know that even with an interest rate of 1%, the university would have $207,563,525 to invest into District 65 students and capital improvements. Not too shabby and not to painful for the ever-growing university. (They brag about adding '3.5 million square feet in new buildings and major renovations' in this press release).

Here are the comments posted so far:
- "A solid partnership between an incredibly powerful and wealthy Northwestern University and the public schools within the city that the University sits makes humane, ethical, and common sense."
- "I want the children who need help to get a quality education are given the opportunity and Northwestern University long has gone without contributing to the wider educational community"
- "Evanston students - especially our most marginalized - deserve an education with all of funds necessary to support all of their needs."
- "Our learners deserve to have every opportunity to succeed. We cannot have equity within our district by scapegoating programs which inpat vulnerable populations. Northwestern needs to do more. Our learners will be prospective NU students in matter of years. An investment in our community provides shared benefits for all stakeholders."
- "If it does nothing else, Northwestern should be making sure the education available in it's community is excellent for every child."
- "Northwestern has failed in all these ways to be a community partner."
- "As an Evanston resident, I see firsthand the ways that NU benefits from Evanston's resources without contributing to its tax base. I think it is a win-win for NU to help Evanston thrive especially with respect to education of our most vulnerable residents."
- "Northwestern dangled more scholarships for Evanston kids in order to get the Ryan Field deal done. Our kids are not a bargaining chip and if Northwestern has the capability to help more Evanston students they should want to do that because it is the right thing. Not because they want a new stadium."
