Yesterday my truck wouldn't start, my uncle died, and all of my house fans broke. Me and my son had to receive a ride from our neighbor, and we ended up walking home because I was so angered by the committee's decision to move my son to Covina High School and not allow him to walk with his Northview class. Despite the fact of all these events, and the apparent disregard from Northview administration about my son, Dillon still wants to go to Northview. During the meeting, both my son and myself were constantly cut off, and especially myself. I was asked questions multiple times, and was repeatedly walked over not couple seconds later after responding. I felt bullied at this meeting. They are claiming that my son is a bully, yet they bullied me. It was apparent at the meeting that Northview's Principal wanted to close the meeting as soon as she walked into the room. A wrestling coach is using his status and intimidation on his wrestlers to tell them to remove their Instagram posts about this petition, and advising them to remove their signatures as well. We have noticed a few signatures disappearing after my son heard about this. I just think that if teachers/coaches are going to go after students for bad judgement with personal animosity they should do the same about staff. Usually the district just moves people to another school. Because parents aren't aware. Except in the case of the two teachers at South Hills High School (CVUSD) that allegedly gave drugs, alcohol, and had sex with students. I have followed that case. They are gone from the district. Sean Patrick Kane, a former SHHS teacher, and an *now* art teacher at Northview, did get a second chance for his social media mistake. I know that my son posting a personal picture of his friend should have consequences like suspension, but not an involuntary transfer. I know he has remorse for it. It violated their trust and privacy. It can be considered bullying or even teasing at best. But a teacher (Kane) speaking up for the two female teachers that violated the trust of students and created more negativity, gets a second chance, I believe my son should too. Several things were lied about and taken out of proportion at the hearing, including a school principal lying straight to my face, and taking many minutes to admit to it. Because of Dillon's "violation" of the CA Education Code, the police department has also given him a citation (misdemeanor). He will be placed on probation as well. Are you kidding me!! His charges are (Penal Code 528.5) Impersonation through Internet or Electronic Means and (Penal Code 485) Misappropriation of Lost Property. They filed #485 against him because he did not make express effort towards finding his friend and giving him his phone. Was my son supposed to be late to his class, when he was visiting his friend's next period anyways to film wrestling for the FAME Academy? He would have had consequences about missing his class. My son has been nothing but a great person, he has volunteered multiple times for the City of Covina, and dedicated multiple after hours to Northview, amongst many other things. I have so much to say on how this was handled. I honestly need to find myself an attorney. I feel very much that there is more to be done, I can feel it in my heart. This is all wrong. My son doesn't have clothes to wear to his new school, his whole wardrobe is Northview gear!!! Please keep sharing this petition with your friends and family, because I am NOT going to give up. This is my son! And I will do everything I can. I am just in the process of gathering more information, this is not done. I want to thank everyone who has been absolutely supportive of my son and myself. I have been completely shocked as to the amount of reach this petition has made. We have people from across the globe signing, as well as movie stars and their brothers and sisters. We have read every single comment that has been placed here, and we have been in tears multiple times from realization of the mass support this has received. We only expected at least 30 people to sign, and at time of writing we have 434. This can only succeed if we get more support behind this unfortunately, so please please continue to share with anyone you know. Love to all, Shannon
