The Northbrook Park District has announced it is keeping the Sport Center Pool closed for Summer 2021 to accommodate repairs to the ice center that is next door. Given the difficult year, the closure of the pool last year, and the fact that there is likely a lot of pent up demand -- this decision seems to go counter to the stated mission of the organization which is: To enhance our community by providing outstanding services, parks and facilities through environmental, social and financial stewardship.

We, the residents of Northbrook who fund the park district, whose children fill park district programs, who look to our park district to reflect our excellent community would like a chance to explore alternatives that will not shut our pool down for an entire summer -- a pool recently renovated that we have been eager to enjoy.
