North Medford High School’s administration has neglected Title IX under the DOE and Medford School District policy (shown in the NMHS 2019-20 Student Handbook, page 96) in regards to reported sexual assault and harassment cases. We want North Medford to be held accountable for the negligence of its students who have been victims of sexual assault through establishing new response strategies for staff, providing safety and resources for victims, and properly punishing those responsible for committing these acts. North Survivors Alliance, a student-led campaign, has been gathering statements from past and present NMHS students who have been affected by sexual harassment and were abandoned by the administration. We understand that the school claims to care for its students, but they have not shown that in the event of sexual assault. It is important that we gain the support of our community to ensure that these changes are made.
