St. Barbara plans to transport ore from Cochrane Hill through the Liscomb Game Sanctuary South West to the proposed 15 Mile Stream mine site about 70km away. They would move equipment from their Touqouy site and set up at 15 Mile Stream
(coordinates for 15-mile stream location 45.15170230251363, -62.51201198253351).
The new plan proposes design changes. Transporting ore means a heck of a lot of large-scale trucking for years traveling through sensitive areas.
Recently our Premier has shifted direction away from his elected mandate and stated he wants to open our natural resources for more development. This would include mining, fracking and drilling for oil and gas in areas that have been traditionally off limits. This type of talk was not what our Premier campaigned on and certainly has a strong potential to add greater risk to our current climate and wildlife crisis.
