The fiasco with Premier Rankin and Owl’s Head has nothing on this story!

While the Federal government is strengthening its rules around pollution by strengthening the Fisheries Act https://www.fisheriesact.ca/ and meeting with NS politicians working to create new wilderness protections. The Houston provincial government is doing quite the opposite.  This is what speaking from two sides of your mouth looks like.  Back-room deals resulting in a new mining sector along NS’s Eastern shore.  Cleverly coined as the “Houston 100” this has been the talk around kitchen tables along Nova Scotia’s Northeastern shore during this summer’s August period.  With the announcement of signal golds new double open pit gold mine in Goldboro this government sets this 100 km stretch up for failure while promising to halt biodiversity loss with federal Environment and Climate Change Minister Guilbeault.  There are now 5 large open pit gold mine projects entered into the NS mining system within a 100 km span and a tailings Dam heightening approval fast tracked with no assessment.

It is time for Nova Scotian's to be concerned about this governments actions!
