Archibald Lake Wilderness Area is still awaiting designation. The area was not included in the most recent round of protected area designations, and the Nova Scotia government has given no timeline for a decision. The lake and its surrounding forest are a “high conservation value” Crown land parcel that has been marked as a conservation priority for nearly a decade.
The St. Mary’s River Association is kicking of this initiative with a letter-writing campaign, as well as a new webpage designed to provide information about the proposed Archibald Lake Wilderness Area.
