Plans for the Cochrane Hill Gold mine have been pushed back until 2026! Not the results we are looking for but certainly shows our efforts are having an impact.
The main reason identified by Atlantic Gold was the possible protection of Archibald Lake which is the largest body of water in the area and is the proposed water supply for the project via a six km pipeline. October 2020 the Provincial Government protected 4300 Hectares as new Provincial Park Land along the St. Mary's River Valley but the controversial water supply, Archibald Lake was left off the list.
We have created this website to provide folks with the necessary information needed to write the three prospective Liberal leaders about the Lake and the need to protect it. Remember one of these folks will be our next Premier after the vote on February 6. They are actually listening right now........
